Since it provides a lot of moisture, its overproduction can cause your pores to get clogged and cause acne. So, although it is contradicting to use castor oil on your acne-prone areas, there is no better solution than castor oil for two major reasons:

  • Castor oil has anti-inflammatory properties that are very effective to remove and dissolve the bacteria, dirt, dust, dead skin cells, excess oil and other toxins that cause clogged pores and thus, acne and pimples.
  • Castor oil has the best antibacterial, antifungal, and antiviral properties that help in chronic skin conditions and ageing-related issues.

Since the consistency of the castor oil is thick like honey or syrup, it is best to either mix it with other oils such as olive oil or coconut oil or warm it up a bit and then apply it on your face and other pimple prone areas. You can massage with castor oil for two to three minutes and keep it for 10-15 minutes so that your skin can absorb it.

If you have a chronic acne issue, you can add a few drops of castor oil in your regular moisturizer and receive a faster result.
